My goodness... relaxing isn't going to help you get pregnant. Neither is getting drunk. You may have a medical issue that is preventing it from happening, or it is possible that you aren't timing sex correctly to maximize your chances of conception. My first advice would be to pick up the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. This book was a lifesaver to me and helped me diagnose why I wasn't getting pregnant, before even going to the doctor. The fact that you have never had a regular cycle means there is something bigger going on than "not relaxing." Trust me, after 18 months of trying to conceive, I know that is not the answer.

The book will teach you how to recognize your fertility signs - cervical fluid, cervical position and softness, and how to take your basal temperatures each morning to know whether you are even ovulating. The main thing you want to watch is your cervical fluid. It will become like the consistancy of eggwhites when you are in your most fertile phase, and this is when you want to time sex. It is not always going to be on day 14 of your cycle as so many people will tell you, as women ovulate at different times. If your cycles are irregular, you may be ovulating later than that, or possibly not at all.

That is where taking your basal temperatures at the same time each morning (before you get out of bed after at least 3 consecutive hours of sleep) will be helpful. That tells you whether you are actually ovulating, and if so, which day you ovulated on. Basal temperatures will give you a ton of information about your cycle, including whether your luteal phase (the time between ovulation and your period) is long enough to allow a fertilized egg to implant in your uterus. Ideally, it should be at least 10 days for successful implantation.

It sounds like a lot of work, yes, but it is so worth it for the amount of infomation it will give you about your body and your cycles. And honestly, it is quite easy once you get the hang of it. It will also give you something to take to your doctor if you decide you need to pursue further treatment, so they can see exactly what is going on with your cycle and go on from there.

Another terrific resource on the web is www.fertilityfriend.com. It has a lot of information on charting and has a very supportive group of women who are dealing with infertility to answer any questions you might have. Most of them are extremely educated as they have been trying a long time as well. Good luck to you!

Time to make an appointment to go see a OBGYN. They can help to regulate your periods, and also make sure that something else isn't going on preventing you from conceiving.

Typically a healthy couple will conceive within a years time, so make an appointment and see what a gyn has to say.

I'm sure with an iregular cycle it is just a matter of timing. Good luck!!

If you have been unlucky and still are maybe you should try adopting a child. You can get a baby or an older child. Normaly it is easyer to adopt kids at a young age because kids at an older age that were givin up or taken away have an attitude because they feel that there other parents hated them. If you get them at a younger age you can tell them they were adopted when they are old enough to handle the info.
