could be mono..
does he have a fever..?
check out this list of mono symptons
- general lack of energy or malaise,
-a loss of appetite, and
-chills
-a severe sore throat,
-fever, and
-swollen glands (lymph nodes) in the neck area
-Persistently tender spleen (felt as a pain in your left side)
i would take him to the medical centre and get him checked. it could also be strep-throat (which causes an extreme soar throat, fever..)

I have no idea what this could be, take him to the doctor or hospital as soon as you can.. do not let this go it could be something serious or not but better safe then sorry. And also he needs some kind of answer and help to ease his pain. I hate to be in pain I am sure he does as well so YES take him to be seen.. if you cant get into a doctor SOON then the emergency room. please

I am a nurse and yes you need to take him to the ER but..they will not see him if you are not the guardian or have medical power of attorney if your parents are not available. Clal your parents and let them know what has happened immediately, They can give consent over the phone to a doctor or nurse in the ER.
Do not place anything on his neck and so not force the neck to move. Do not give him anything that will cause i=him to swallow. He may choke.
If you feel it is critical ( he is crying), call an ambulance to come evaluate him.
But he definately needs to be seen and evaluated.

may be an ear infection. If so it takes a couple days after treatment for the pain to stop so don't wait

You should go to a doctor's office and get him x-rayed to see if there is something wrong with his bones, and if nothing comes up, you may want to take him to emergancey. I hope this helps and he is alright. it sounds ike it could be serious. Good luck. :)
