italian leather is bovine just like in the states, but the europeans don't use barbed wire so there arent as many scratches and scars on the leather.

It's just like Egyptian cotton - it's a name/type that lures in the unsuspecting. Who would have thought that Pima cotton is just as soft, but even more affordable than Egyptian?
