I like them! It's just my opinion, I think many are very creative, and there's nothing wrong with putting something nice on your skin.

I like the detail and art work involved with tattoos. However when I see one I cannot help but think about the Jews that were tattooed in the Holocaust. They were inked against their will among many other atrocities. When I worked at Trauma Center one of my patients had one and it was very sad to see.

The people that I know that have them on average regret them later which is funny because the scars that are left trying to remove them are worse than the scar that it took to create it.

I suppose it depends on how the tattoo is presented. I think tattoos are something so personal they should not be exposed to everbodies viewing pleasure. I would think someone would not choose to put something on their person without it meaning a great deal to them. If someone wants to express themselves so adamantly then I believe there other methods that are more appropriate. I have gone twice to get a tattoo and have chickened out both times. Not because of the fear of the needle but the fear of regret. I suppose I admire people that do not look so far in the future, but I am not one of them.

So to make a long answer longer, I think they are fine, just not for me.

I don't like them. The sad thing is, I have one. I got it when I was barely 18 and it's a lower back tattoo. I hate it because now it's such a cliche, everyone in my generation has one. And I've heard the "might as well be a bullseye!" joke about 7584543543 times. Gets pretty old.

But other than being bitter about my mistake, I think it cheapens your body. People are perfect just the way they are, no need to decorate yourself with costly, permanent mistakes.

It's not that I hate them. I just think some people go overboard and mark their bodies so much that it just seems ugly. One can't even tell where one tattoo starts and ends and the other begins. Some of them are really good looking people and the mess of tattoos they have. Has taken away their natural beauty.

Personally I dig em ... on other people's bodies!

Check out http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=2251139 as well as http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=9183302. To me they look sexy. However, it all just depends upon your lifestyle, what type of a tattoo you are going to place on your body, where it is going to be located on your body, and the reason why you are going to place the tattoo on your body. I have met alot of guys and girls alike who have tattoos and they seem perfectly comfortable with them - if not even sporting them off to onlookers. However, people change, their lifestyles do too, and even more than probable their bodies will change the most! So if you are the analytical type, like me, you would probably opt out - because a tattoo, in my opinion, (unless it is a temporary one), isn't the type of thing you obtain today and decide tomorrow that you don't want it on your body anymore!

I dislike tatoos. Your body should stay natural - the way it is meant to be. I think that tatoos serve no purpose besides to make people look good. I hate how all everyone cares about is appearance. Also, its just dangerous...So much could go wrong. And they are permanent - why do something when you seriously have no idea whether or not you may change your mind about it someday?

I'm okay with them. When I was a teen, I wanted tatoos. But I changed my mind when I had children. I thought tatoos had a stigma attached to them, and that 'nice' people didn't get them. So when my boys were teens, I said no tatoos.

Then they got older, moved out, and showed up with various tatoos. One of them has 5+.

Now quite a few of my family members have tatoos: my nieces, my sister (my older sister, who also has a belly piercing), my daughter...

So I have learned a few things about tatoos, and my opinion is basically the same as when I wanted my own. They are okay as long as it is a safe and sanitary procedure.

I like some of them on other people. I would never have one because, as a nurse, I have seen what they look like after several years and they do get ugly! Also, there is a very real risk of contracting hepatitis. So, if I were to have one, it would only be the temporary kind.

Some people really have some beautiful ones,my daughter-in-law included.I don't hate them, besides it's up to the individual.I agree with my 8 year old granddaughter
(use the temporary ones because tommorrow you may not like the permanent one but you are pretty much stuck with it)

Like em on guys and sometimes they look good on girls like if there not to big or to small and in the right spot like I really like them on the lower back above the butt and it looks tacky if you have too many.
