Thats like asking how much oil do I need to put on a fire to put it out. American/white occupation is fanning the flames of middle eastern hatred of the U.S. Going door to door, hand cuffing and putting a bag on the head of an Iraqi teenager and hauling them off makes moderate Iraqis radical insurgents. Sure, some of the young men they nab are in fact insurgents..but others have nothing to do with nothing. Its like casting a broad net. you always pick up more than you intended and innocents die and suffer as a result. So you say more troops? How about zero.

Bush, Rummy and Cheney were all told by the top Generals in the field (that have since been forced into retirement for not being yes men) from the very onset of this ill concieved misadventure that it would take at least 300,000

"we could be there 6 days 6 weeks or even 6 months but thats doubtful" Rumsfield
"Rumsfield is here to stay" George W Bush

Prior to the invasion of Iraq, Bush was advised by the pentagon that it would require a force of 250,000 troops or more the establish law and order in post-Saddam Iraq.
He fired the generals who gave the advice.

I dont think it's a question of troops on ground killing insurgents, it's getting the Iraqi soldiers trained so they can handle their own country.

It shouldnt take anymore than that are there now to do that.

No amount of American troops is going to get the job done if the Iraqi government can't handle the terrorists themselves.

the numbner isnt that important if they were allowed to be soldiers and fight a war... having them under the microscope of the pc police causes problems... let them be soldiers let them shoot things and blow stuff up..being int he spotlight with a tv camera on them all day and telling them to kill the enemy with kindness and hugs does not work... these are combat troops not the highway patrol
