I think India is an amazing country that is on a serious Economic boom. People are hard working and competitive for today economic world. I am constantly reading news headlines that support this. I also appreciate the diversity of people and religions.
I still perceive this country to have a great divide between the have and the have nots. I am conflicted personally what I feel about the caste system, people say it is not factor, yet I still people marrying within caste. I feel sorry for India's issues with Pakistan and terrorism.
On a lighter note, Bollywood films are cheesy and predictable a with marriages, singing and dancing. But Shahrukh Khan is downright HOT!
Okie...

well... my only experince with an Indian is my doctor/employer and she's totally selfish. She took away all my hours without warning because there isn't a lot of work for me to do (I really have enough to come in every morning but she only gives me 6 hours a week now). Today she said "I hope you are looking for a job because I can't employ you anymore." She's been really selfish and immoral the whole time I've worked for her....she doesn't even follow common employer laws....she was making everyone work overtime WITHOUT overtime pay... instead they had to save the extra hours as vacation hours. I refused because I knew it was illegal and I even brought it to her attention that it was, and she said "well I still don't pay overtime....so just dont work overtime and we'll be all set."
There is so much more she does like way over-charging life insurance companies and patients for medical records, charging patients for letters she should be writting as their doctor (and she doesnt even write them...the staff does)
so yeah.. the one I have know is a very selfish, immoral, tight butt human begin that I can't wait to be rid of. (even patients call her these things so this is not out of anger at all....)

I just watched this movie about the treatment of widows in India. There is apparently a belief that once a woman's husband has died, half of her is dead as well. The woman is then sent to live in a sort of commune with other widows and has to live free from sin the rest of her life. The main character was an eight year old girl who's husband had died and she was sent to live in a commune for the rest of her life, never able to remarry again. They are seen as "unclean" and are treated as such by the rest of society. Made me really glad to be an American.

India has one of the oldest civilizations in existence. They have valid religions which predate Christianity and Judaism. The oldest ever text written in an Indo-European was in Sanscrit. Indian languages (except Dravidian ones) are related to English.
Krishna, a messianic Avatar/Prophet was born of a virgin and produced miracles. So all those claims that only Jesus did that are wrong. He also never truly died, but was resurrected up to heaven.

From what i've seen in America. Indians are very smart and hard working. They do what they have to do to get to the top without stepping on people's toes. I know some people like to make fun of their accents but I think thats stupid. How do make fun of someone's accent when you cant even speak one language properly. I wish I had the disclipine that some Indians have when it comes to working hard.

I do -- and quite frequently.
India is one of the few places on the earth that was able to develop its own religion, culture and philosophy without the influence of outside input (travelers or conquerors).
This is due to it's geography. A triangle surrounded on two sides by the ocean and blocked off on the third by the highest mountains on the planet!
India is one of the few places where one can see a concept thought out / developed / evolved on it's own merits without contamination from outside sources.

I don't know enough about their culture to really comment. The Indians that I have met seem like very nice people. Their food is amazingly good and different.

First id like to start by saying this is a very odd question on account of your indian and ur asking people what they think of indians. in other words ur asking people wat they think of you. why cant u just say that straight up miss indian. i think indians are so darn wierd. like they have such long hair.. nt just girls but guys too. most smell like curry and have oily hair. i mean like have you heard of shampoo and soap seriously. india is a pretty dirty place. all indians say they love it and its amzaing. but it really isnt. its so dirty and filthy. the poverty level is so bad that its a disgrace to all indians. there is nothing pretty about the country. all i see is filth, dirt, and over population. indians also think too much of themselves when they have no right to. when i see an indian i go "EWW"
-hey you asked for the truth and you got it
