The US still has 7,000 operational nukes, plus another 3,000 in reserve. Enough to blow up the entire world 100X over. I suppose their philosophy is: the more nukes over the limit required for global holocaust that we have, the safer we are.
China has 20.
Iran, NKorea = 0.
Now, the US wants to spend countless billions building Theater Missile Defense, and militarize space.
The American nuclear policy is insane & irrational, and most Americans are relatively uninformed about it.

As an Air Force vet, I can not confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons in this country.

Yes we have them, but the only key events that could trigger their use is in response to a nuclear attack or should circumstances dictate their usage to prevent a catastrophic event.
