I have all of those tools, I didn't know if I needed anything special. I do have one problem, some of the screws are old or had been painted over so they are stuck and when I tried to unscrew them I kinda messed up and stripped the screw or rounded the head off or something I dunno I can't get it off. Is there a tool that I can get that off with or do I just use pliers or something. I have the manual and the shop manual from cadillac and some wiring diagrams. I just need to take the damn thing apart and it's hard :(

We had a '59 Caddie. I am certain you will get numerous answers but, did you put WD 40 on the screws first? Since they are painted, I am only using my experience in stripping things, try paint stripper, red is the worst so it will take some time, use the gel kind so it won't drip off. If my hubby wasn't outside I could tell you how to get the screw out, I assume it is a flat-can you get to it with a dremmel tool? Use the small-flat cutter and go across that screw with a vengeance. Have patience it will be a beauty when you are done. I thought I had seen every vehicle know to man cuz dad had a car lot years ago but I have not seen a 58 caddie. Send us all a pic when you are done. Check on the colors used for that year unless you are going to keep it. I helped with body work and taping off,, my uncle did the painting, spit, yuck.

Ok not to worry a bit of elbo greas and you will be on your way.

firts thing is befor you undo a bolt, nut or screw that has not been worked on for some time, dose (spray it with dura lube,Q20 or WD40 leave it for a few minuits and dose it a bit more then after say 10 to 15 minuits first turn it slightly as to fasten it not mutch just under a qurter turn, then try to un screw it you will battel a bit but you will see it will un screw as you go a small squrt of spray. now you must use a large screw driver with a desent grip check the driver head to the screw or nit and bolt been done lose for the correct size tool. now for the once that had to be stuburn.... depending on the part that is been stripped get a hax blad just the blade and gently re-grove the screw. if this can not be done then (depending on how you feel on the item you are working on) You will need to get an extractor kit set to extract the screw, bolt. a very good kit is a RIDGE Screw Extractor (set number 10 will do you good) it is very easy to use all you need is a drill machine with a 2mm to 13mm chuck head and your on your way. and by the looks of this you say you have all the tools well then this is a must for any person that works like you (loves to fix and restore things... I do Hope that this was help full to you and thank you for letting me answer you question.you can not go wrong with this pro investment. it was my best buy ever and saved me hundreds of $ good luck you will will the battel of screw and human.:-)

Most screws even when the head is stripped will come out with the use of an impact driver.
