1. Cars pollute the evironment.
2. They are rather expensive to purchase and mantain.
3. Walking, running, and biking is a much healthier way to travel; Driving contributes to our unhelathy lifestyles.
4. Roads, gas stations, car washes, etc. take up space and destroy nature.
I hope that these ideas help. Good luck!

Cool avatar...
These are all good suggestions - I just want to remind you that in a persuasive speech, remember to only present facts that are in your favor. Do not give the other side or present yours as if they *could* be right - be confident.
Here's a twist to consider...I can't see completely eliminating transportation altogether - it would kill our economy, so if we would eliminate cars, but keep mass transit instead, we could end much of our war involvement. Follow this logic: If we would give up our cars and choose to create instead a system of cheap mass transit (mag-lev trains? Electric trolleys?), we would end our dependence on foreign oil. Once we no longer need the oil, we no longer have such a strong interest in the Middle East.
This can also help repair the environment as we can rid our nature reserves of drilling rigs (including the oceanic ones), use fewer roads, and spend the billions we allocate to the DMVs and Road Commissions to things like education and police forces.
Of course the Big Three (Big Two?) lobbyists would never allow it, but hey...it's a thought.

-Cars' smoke emissions contain high levels of CO2, which speeds up the global warming.
-Cars use up all the fossil fuels, which leaves us with no energy source to heat our houses.
-Cars encourage obesity as people become too lazy to walk even a mile.
-The money used to produce the millions of cars each year can be used in better ways, like stem cell research and other scientific study.
-Parents won't be pestered for a new car when their kids reach the age of 16.
-Don't have to pay so much $ to have the driving lessons.
-Cops don't have to issue speeding tickets if we all go on bicycles.
P.S. I love Avatar:The Last Airbender too! I love firebenders better than anyone else. Next come the Airbenders even though only one is left.

It's healthy for the environment to not use a vehicle if you don't have to.
People are making driving in the city crazy by: going too fast, too slow...
People should be using the the bus instead of their vehicles, saves gas, and money....
Drunk driver's cause accident's and their own deaths.
More cops can focus on crime and drug dealers than looking out for fast drivers and so on...
Why can't people just use horses like they used to???

We Feed the Rich Not The Poor
We Kill The Air We Breath
We Allow the ones we left from 200 Years Ago to re start how we are Motivated or Controlled, and if not By The Crown, then by the Crude! We left to Get Away From any Control.
We allow ourselves to become what we call our enemys

Would prevent more urban sprawl because people would have to walk, bike, or mass transit everywhere
