Johnny, I'm with you.
I too have asked people to desist from using foul and abusive language, not just because I don't like or agree with it, but because the English Language is rich in its content and has sufficient words to make any sentence sensible.

I'm not really sure what RSS is, but I think that religion is a really sensitive subject for some people. And a lot of people are stubborn and may get offended or angered when others don't believe the same things they do.

Swearing provides an easy way to provide emphasis to a point and into extreme emphasis. I don't understand why a word can be bad. And for the people who say swearing shows a limited vocabulary, that's just idiotic. Swear words are valid English words and have a meaning. Usually I find when swear words are used they provide the exact meaning that was wanted. To use other words is to dilute the meaning or to mangle the meaning. Swearing in many cases shows masterful use of the language because they aren't too squeamish to use certain words.

People use profanity for three basic reasons: one, for shock-value. Two, because their vocabulary is extremely limited. Three, as T. D. Jakes says, to give weight to their lies.
Kids tend to go for reason number one; adults usually number two; it shows how limited their knowlege of the language is.

I use it when it expresses what I'm saying.

I don't mince words, and when I really mean an obscene word, I say it.

But I don't do it "just because."

i swear out of habit and sometimes it's easier to swear than to think of the correct word...i don't see what's so wrong with swears anyway, it's all in how you say it.
