They gave my grandmother a pass to go home in Canada for an infection in her organs.They put her on a waiting list.They said she was all right to go home and relax.She came to the US and they told her if she would have waited one more weekend she would have not been with us today.Lucky for her and us she had the surgery in the US and she is still with us today.It really makes me wonder if we really need health care that will put us on a waiting list even though some of us have worked are arss's off to be able to walk in and pay for the best.

Socialized medicine is a joke.
The system is overwhelmed, while the people who have worked their butts off get listed right along with the bottom feeders. I'm sorry if that seems elitist to some people but the truth is that if you work you *** off there is no reason you cannot make something of yourself and if you choose to live you life crappy then you don't deserve the best of the benefits that the rest of the hardworking people have paid for.
If the US goes "socialized medicine" I am quitting the health care profession and going into the mortuary business......because medicine will suck but the morticians will be in high demand!
Glad to hear your Gram is okay - and thank you for posting to show all the sheep in the US who think socialized medicine will cure all ills that it's not all that's they think it is.

It doesn't matter how much you have worked, you deserve health care. Why should your money make a difference as to whether you live or die? Universal coverage for all!

Canada sucks. I take that back - their health care system sucks. Socialized medicine does not, and can not, work.
