First of all know that everything will be FINE! I was told that I had a grade 3 placenta (aging placenta) but that my baby girl was as healthy as can be! I was measuring a week or so early and all the docs thought my baby was going to be big (9lbs+). So they induced me at 38 weeks and my baby was 7# 4oz. I had LOTS of amniotic fluid and thats why my belly was large. An aging placenta is ONLY an alarm if they find this out in the beginning of your pregnancy. Many of those pregnancies end up premature. you are 35 weeks along and WAY in the clear of your baby having issues. I asked to look at my placenta after the c-section and sure enough it was not intact or pink-ish/red like healthy ones are, it was a dark purple-ish color! Congrats and Good Luck!

Sorry, I don't know what an aging placenta is. However, if the doctor is willing to wait two weeks before he induces you, then I would say that it's not that serious because if it were, you would be in the hospital right now. He's probably waiting the two weeks to give the little one a bit more time to grow and put on weight. Relax and trust your doctor. Just think, in two weeks you'll have your little baby!

It means that your body is signaling that the baby is ready to be born and the placenta is reducing the amount of nutrients that pass to the baby. Typically, that happens at two weeks past the due date. You probably need to be monitored at this point. I would say waiting two more weeks is maybe taking a risk. Have your doctor assess the developmental stage of the fetus. It's doing ok in weight, 5lbs is acceptable. I would ask for a full 3D MRI to get a better view.

It's a term that's used to describe the calcification of the placenta which occurs near the end of the pregnancy. When this happens, the placenta is diminished in it's capacity to supply oxygen and nutrients to the fetus.
Here is a website that explains it a little more.

I would look it up on the internet or call your doctor and tell him that you need more answers than just "it's againg". I'm sure it means what it sounds like though. It sounds like once a placenta has been in utero for a long period of time, it begins to be of less use and begins to show signs of aging

First of all, they cannot "weigh" the baby via ultrasound. That is total heretical bullcrap. The accuracy of such "measurements" is almost nill. NO one I know who has had a baby and had that estimate was within even 4 pounds of the actual weight of the baby. I have also never heard of an "early-aging placenta." Sounds like a bunch of "healthscare" to me. You do have the right to refuse unnecessary testing and intervention. It says so right on each procedure consent form you sign. It sounds like you are due for some serious over-intervention, and I just want to let you know that inductions have some pretty serious side effects. Your body, assuming you have been taking care of yourself with good food and exercise, knows EXACTLY what is right for itself. Your baby knows when it is supposed to be born, and I can guarantee you, you are going to end up having an emergency C-section, which will lead to more complications and fewer choices to birth vaginally in the future. Just educate yourself before doing this. I'd get on board with a doctor who doesn't believe in that weighing via ultrasound junk. That is just medical garbage.

sounds like againg placenta means the placenta is ready for delivery but the baby is not most likely nothing to worry about.

sounds like the plecenta is deteriorating as it would around2-3 weeks overdue. did you have your dates wrong or anything? if not, in 2 weeks your baby will be considered full term and weigh a little more, everything will be fine. good luck
