I just want to get some opinions. What do you think is the right age for all of these things...... putting away the swing, taking away the pacifier, using a walker, using a bouncy chair, putting away the basinette, etc. Anything else you can think of too would bee appreciated. Thanks

When they don't use them anymore or are over the weight limit if they have one. My 11 month old LOVES his paci adn I wouldnt force it away from him any more than I would force a favorite blanket or a teddy. They ALL serve teh same purpose and if he needs his paci longer I think it will do much mroe harm than good to take it forcefully. I might hide it and see if he misses it too bad, but never be cruel adn just take it.
Everything else though I would just say when they outgrow it either weight-wise or their physical needs change to no longer include them. You are absolutely right in going with what you feel is right, NOone knows your baby like you do including his pediatrician. As long as when you take things away is based on your childs needs and not your own then you are doing absolutely the right thing by going by your own instincts.

For most of those things, it's really just what mom and baby feel comfy with. But my personal experience was:
Swing : My son stopped using it about 5-6 months because he didn't enjoy it anymore and he looked to big in it.
Pacifier : Isaac was totally addicted to his paci! I was always told 1 year, but my doctor and dentist told me 2 years. So I chose 18 months because it was in the middle, and it felt right.
Walker: About 9 or 10 months, because this is when he started "cruising" along the couch and I didn't want the walker to delay his walking skills.
Bouncy chair : I don't remember how old he was, but when he started sitting up on his own, I stopped using it, and used a boppy to support him instead. (5 months maybe?)
Bassinet : Between 2-3 months, because he was sleeping 6 hours at a time, so I switched him to his crib
A good book to reference is "What to expect the first year" It will give you a lot of good information and approximations on what the right ages are for certain things.
Hope this helps : )

Hell Yeah! But that occurs now not as typically as individuals with the equal age! I'm 16 however I think a little bit silly having a crsuh on a few 25 year ancient lady! So it is determined by the character quite!

bouncy chair suitable from birth till they are too big for it.
basinette, i would suggest around 3 months to stop using it
start using a walker around 9 - 10 months
pacifier's vary depending on how much your child relys on it but i would say to take it away at 18 months at the latest

Swing--I think its a year old depends on the model
Pacifier- a year and half or so--you still want to get thru your meals at resturants as long as you can
Walker...after full on walking
Bouncy chair about 6 or 7 months
Basinette- 3 months then to a solid full size crib
Its up to you..some people rely on these items to get thru their day so they can cook, clean, homework with other kids..There really isn't a specific time frame..its up to you

swing-when they lose interest or they out grow the weight limits
pacifier-after 1st word! It discourages using language.
walker-i don't like them at all
bouncy seat- when they can get out of it.
bassinet- you'll notice the feet and arm touching the sides
bottles- 9mos-1st birthday (no it's not too soon) At 2 you should be using a big boy/girl cup. Visit a daycare if you don't believe me.
blankie-goes with the pacifier or always stays at home. What normal kid brings a blankie to preschool?

The proper age is whatever you think! Watch the weight and safety limits of some of those items, you don't want baby to drop out of any of those. Although, it is easier to take away bottles and pacifiers around 1.5 years, the older the harder. As far as special blankies and stuff... NEVER.

Swing: around 7 months
Walker: around 1 year or whenever they start walking confidently
Bouncy:6-7 months
Bassinet: 3months
Crib: 2 years(unless they start climbing out before)
Bathtub seat: 18 months
Pacifier: 2 years(absolute latest)
....just my two cents.
