Well the very best guess as of 23 March is to go with climatology, i.e. the historical average number of hurricanes or tropical storms or whichever group you want to consider. Go to the National Hurricane Center web page and scroll down to the climatology link. This would be my guess for the 2007 season. Ten named storms, 6 Hurricanes two of which will be cat 3 or greater. I suppose "global warming" advocates might argue for a greater number of hurricanes and more cat 4 storms than climatology would indicate.

probably more than last year which was about 8-13. Because of the Global Warming this year the expected prediction will be about 10 to 15 two more than the previous year so this year will be active even for small tropical storms which will eventually strengthen into the H-storm.

For the sake of the people who are affected by hurricanes, I hope for zero. More or fewer hurricanes neither prove nor disprove global warming, the volumes of actual scientific evidence of global climate change do.

there is no such thing as global warming the real name is climate change....if we do over flood it'll be thousands of years from now.
