I am a 25 year old mother of two. Both boys. I am married and my youngest is almost 4 months old. My husband had a vasectomy last June. I had my period on March 10th and it was normal, just as it was the month before. My question is this: I have this brownish discharge when i wipe. Is it possible i am pregnant even though my hubby had a vasectomy. I have heard that it can happen. Being hearing this happen from a lot of people here lately. What do you all think? And NO i have not cheated or anything like that. I am worried b/c this is how i knew last time. I got this brownish discharge for about 3 days and then it was gone and i never got my period. The discharge was EXACTLY like this.

Please help me! Thank you in Advance for those who do answer me.

Hi ..... i have this a lot to last week infact i have found some information for you but as you will see its just old blood i was also told this by my Gp, but if you are still concerned i would see you doctor x
Different Types of Discharge

White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

If this is how you knew you were pregnant the last time, go to the store and buy a test. If it comes up neg wait until your next period time. If doesn't come, then go to your doc and have them do a test. Or if you really think you are pregnant, call your doc and do the blood test.

The other ppl that answered your question is right about your husband's snipping not taking full effect. If he didn't get the follow up appt to check his "count" then you have just run the risk of being pregnant. If you are pregnant, your hubby needs to go to the doc and have his "count" checked anyways to see if the surgery took or not.

Whatever happens, happens. It wasn't as if this purposely happened. good luck and keep your head up:)

You can get pregnant after your husband has had a vasectomy, but the chances are extremely low. Most of these type of pregnancies occur within six months after the vasectomy. If this is a normal sign of your pregnancies, then I would do a hpt. Good Luck!

Did your husband go get checked after his initial snip? If he did not, it is possible that the vasectomy didn't take, I mean maybe it grew back together already. It happens a lot. Thats why when men get that done, they are supposed to go back for another consultation to verify the procedure worked. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

Yeah you're right stranger things occur, so you could be pregnant. I wouldn't sweat it though until you actually miss your period. Also, I wouldn't mention it to your husband until you know something for sure. He may starting acting crazy and you do not need this stress when you don't even know what is going on. Our cycles do crazy things sometimes so I would wait and see.

It's possible, but the chances are slim. It could've just been old blood from a past period coming out.
But, honestly, you've had kids before, so you know the only way to know if you're pregnant:
Take a test!
