a torrent file can be opened using several different programs. type "torrent program" in google and you'll see a lot of programs you can download

yup, the person above pertty much said it all. The torrent file is like a folder. When you use utorrent, Azurues, bittorrent, or some other torrenting program, it grabs the files and puts then in the folder. In caseyou don'tknow anything about torrenting, Seeds are how many people have the file 100% downloaded. The number inside the ( ) is how many people have the file completed. The number outside the ( ) is how many people are actively sending out the bits of the file. Peers are the people who aren't finished downloading but are still sending you the info/file bits that you dont have.

A torrent is just a pointer to the file. You have to use a program like bitspirit to download the file.
