Haven't you heard of the "Third Rail"? Too bad most electricity is made from fossil fuel, that is unless you're from Canada, then they have Hydro.

It depends where in the world you're from as to the form of getting the electricity from the wires to the subway cars. It may indeed come from the third rail or overhead wires like street trolleys.

Electricity. There is a 3rd (and sometimes 4th) rail that supplies a high voltage, and the trains all have electric motors in them.

Electricity.

Look under the rails. It is under one of the tracks which is always in contact with the train's.

Be careful, they have very high voltage. Don't get down from the station edge to inspect...!! Lol......You could fry in a fraction of a second if you come in contact with one of them.
