I was really worried that I was gonna be embarrassed during labor. I was scared of pooping or throwing up or doing or saying something stupid, and I was so worried about being exposed, I'm pretty private. But by the time I actually got to the pushing stage, I had a completely natural birth, I was so focused and felt such a strong urge to push I swear to God they could have wheeled me spread eagle through the hospital and out onto the front lawn and I wouldn't even have noticed. I didn't even know who was in the delivery room anymore it was so hectic and I just wanted to push him out. It's hard work I'm telling you it takes focus. Plus the staff is so relaxed they wouldn't care and nothing will phaze them. I didn't end up pooping thank god, and I did my throwing up at home, but honestly I don't think it would have mattered.

I'm guessing your a shy person in that you can't even say poop, or bowel movement when asking this question. Yes, those "embarassments" happen. Its 100% natural. Trust me, it wouldn't be the first time the doctors or nurses see it and it won't be the last. It will however be the last thing on your mind when you get to that stage. Try not to dwell on it too much. There is nothing you can do about it so no sense in worrying. Plus, it doesn't even happen to everyone! Best of luck.
Edited to add: wow, your additional details are even more mature. How is pushing embarassing? Whatever. You'll have a whole new perspective on what's embarassing and what isn't after your baby comes. Seriously....grunting embarssing??

Embarrassment while pushing during labor??? That's the 1st I have ever heard that one :) Perhaps if you are in the middle of a mall bare butt naked with a couple hundred people watching :)
I would say a definate NO in my opinion. When you can finally push, to me it was relief, it hurt, but at the same time felt good.
And if you should happen to have a BM/ poop, don't worry about it, the Doctors nurses see it all the time and don't think a thing of it.

Gee... I don't know... I was always too busy trying to push the baby out to even think about being embarassed.... and then after I was too focused on the baby to give it a second thought... The only people in the room with me each time have only ever been my husband and the hospital staff who see birth 5 million times a year. Not exactly sure why you'd be embarassedf bringing a child into the world in front of those people. If you don't feel comfortable with someone being in the room (other than the doctors and nurses) and witnessing this, don't let them come in, or kick them out.

It is only really embarrassing if you accidentally have a bowel movement while pushing. Trust me, by the time you are ready to push, you don't much care about anything other than getting the baby out. If you do have a 'movement' most Dr.'s and nurses are discreet about it. It doesn't happen to everyone so don't get too stressed out about it. There are worse things that could happen...like cursing out your mother-in-law while in labor. It is the best chance you will ever get.

I am 34 weeks pregnant. I was there when my cousin had her little girl, she is the shyest person on earth but to my amazement, she was a whole other person while giving birth it was awesome, I think your so much into pushing and having the baby the least of your problems is being embrassed. Also our teacher at a birthing class said you tend to lose "some" modesty while giving birth, she said an entire Boy Scout troop could march right thru and you wouldn't care! That releived my fear of being embarassed!

While I was pushing I was more worried about getting the baby out and making the hurting stop. I didn't care what any body thought. I just wanted it over with. So I could meet my new baby. Try to focus on the reward for the pain. It will be OK.

I've had three kids and with my last one that was the worst. With every push I peed and I wasn't embarrassed at all. I was only concentrating on getting the baby out. The funny part about it was when the baby came out he was peeing to and he peed on me! The doctor was like he gets it from his mommy. I thought it was funny not embarrassing. No worries you'll do fine. And please believe the doctors have seen it all before.

I have been through this twice... It kind of gets embarrassing if you poop... This happens all of the time but it makes you feel weird. Other than that, just focus on how long and how hard you have got to push to get that little thing out a there!!!
