This book was written by Johanna Spyri. Just Google on google PICTURES on subject "Heidi, Johanna Spyri" and you will find lots of pictures.
The Japanese cartoons of The Heidi story show a girl with short black hairs, but in the original story by Johanna Spyri Heidi's hair is blonde (fair) with plaits.(Tress, braid)
