I've watched ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND countless times, and I never really thought about it until today when I surfed through the channels and came across the end.

At few parts in the film, the characters trollop around what seems to be a beach, absolutely covered with snow, just up onto the shore where only a bit of sand is visible, next to the crashing waves.

To me, that just seemed insanely crazy, having never seen or been in snow before.

Is this something that happens seasonally? Or is this some kind of weather phenom?

What causes it? Where in the United States can you see snow on a beach???

I have seen it many times in MD. I have pictures of it in fact. It is a very real phenomenon.

I live in New York and I love the beach .. I go there in the summer, winter, rain, sun and even snow ..
I remember last year it was completely covered when I went, all I seen was white up until the ocean. Just because its on sand instead of grass dosent mean it dosent stick.
Snow is seasonal here from around December to March depending on weather conditions. Snow depends on the temperatures in the atmosphere. Im sure this happenes in all the states in the north-eastern US that have beaches.

Really it is quite common in the north east .... especially during and just after s big Nor Easter ... I lived in Corpus Christi TX during the mid 80s and we had a cold snap and snow on the beach and just a few years ago in Houston on Christmas eve it snowed and Galveston Beach had up to 6 inches of snow to the waters edge...

sure it does take place. Alot of cases the quite heat ocean water motives breezes that shop the sea coast from getting coated in snow, whether seashores can grow to be snow coated.

It never snows on beaches. In regions of colder climate, where it snows occasionally, the beaches are protected by an energy field that deflects all the snow. I am not sure where it goes, but it may end up in the heads of people who ask retarded questions.

Massachussetts, New York, New Jersey, Maine, Michigan....lakes..............etc........

Winter causes it!!!!

You can even see the ocean frozen if cold enough!!! But I think is not recomended to walk on the water since the ice is not completely solid and can be very thin!!!
