That is okay because I have spent over 1 million dollars on stuff that I collect and my stuff is not that rare. I collect books, old and new books. I don't think it is a waste of time because that stuff could be very valuable one of these days and you could sell it and get more money back. Don't let people influence you in stopping keep going on and keep collecting

I collect very little - some older coins, stamps, silverplate, books. As with all things, when one removes the chance for financial gain from the equation, replaces it with why you are collecting, then enjoyment in viewing, touching, using your collection is all that really matters. It's all in the "eye of the collector" and is driven by an authentic interest in the collectible item(s).

I started collecting Painted coins years ago. The vender's use to paint there coins to make sure there machines worked properly. When they counted the cash they would remove there coins. I find fewer and fewer of them. I think the small time vender's are a thing of the past. I still collect them thou.
Another thing I collect is bent and mutilated coins. It is interesting to me how coins can and are damaged. These collections don't take up much room and they are not expensive. I enjoy them I don't show them to anyone I just collect them. How do you like those closet collection's.

I collect Animation , Anime , Manga and Figurines
In movies I have over 600 titles , 200 titles of Manga and 100 character figurines. It doesn't matter what other people think, there will always be those who don't understand. As long as it has your interest and you enjoy them that is all thats really important. It's your collection not theirs and think of the knowledge you have gained from it that others may not have.

Among other things, I collect deck prisms.

I think we collect things as an expression of our personalities. Obviously, there's something about the items that we collect that have special meaning to us, or trigger an emotional response in us that prompts us to collect them. It brings a sense of comfort and even ownership to the collector, a form of security. Sometimes the items we collect are reminders of good times and happy memories, and we can look to those items when we're feeling down.
