His mom is dying of breast cancer and we wanted to bless her with naming one of our children after her. Her name is Francisca, so we were thinking we could name our first son Francisco Rodriguez. In honor of his grandma. Another little problem we are coming across is that he is a latino and I am white..lol so we have very different tastes when it comes to certain things. We would like three children and have come up with these two other names for our next two children......

Carl Antonio Rodriguez ( named after both our dads....carl mine and antonio his)

Genieve Belle ( belle was my grandmother)

Is it a good compromise and use of names?

I think all of the names that you have picked out are beautiful. It's great to see that you are both working on these things together and are honoring your families as well as compromising to please the both of you.

I am Spanish and my BF is white so we have different tastes in names as well. But like you guys we want to someday compromise and name something that both of our families can pronounce! lol If we are blessed with a daughter and a son someday, we are going to name our son after his brother who passed away when he was younger and our daughter after my grandmother who passed away two years ago.

I wish you both the best of luck! ;-)

I'm not a big fan of Carl, I would use it as a middle name instead. (that's my husband's middle name) Just turn the names around. As far as the rest of the names you've picked out, I think they are great. LOL, what are you going to do if all three are girls? Obviously, Francisco can go back to Francisca, but would you take Antonio to Antonia? Then you will have to come up with something else besides Carl. Carlene? That would work. Anyway, here's hoping you get your 2 boys and one girl, and Congratulations on the up coming nuptials.

I like Carl and Francisco. But to be honest I don't know how you pronounce Genieve. I think of the Geneva Convention when I try to pronounce it. I'm not making fun of it though!

Personally I think Francisca Belle is pretty. You could call her Frannie Belle for short.

That's a great compromise for the names. My husband and I are doing the same thing for our children's names. We want three children, so we have six names picked out (three boy, three girl) and all but one is named after a family member from both sides of our family.

compromise is always a good thing. i think its cool that youre keeping names in the family. And you got lucky cause youre families have some good sounding names together:)
I especially love Genieve Belle.. i've never heard anything like it before but it just sounds so beautiful. very unique and since its also a family name it will be special to your daughter.

I think all of those names are beautiful. I think honoring grandparents and such is a very respectful thing to do, and gives the child a sense of family........ Genieve is an especially pretty name. Good luck!

I prefer Savannah Genevie-Belle Rodriguez and if your want your son to have the name CAR as a nickname I suggest you change the name to Antonio Carl Rodriguez. You could call him AC.

Instead of the first name Fancisco, try it as a middle name. Believe me, it is doubtful he will like to be called Francis. Carl is an ok name. Try an o on the end : Carlo. If Geniveve is a family name, I think it would be ok. If it is not, try Isabella, so you have Bella (or Belle) as a first name.

If you want to keep the names in the family, then it's fine. My husband is of a different background then I am too, and his family always names the kids after someone. I refused to do that. My husband is already a Jr. and I didn't want my son to be a III. I wanted my kids to have their own name. But what you're choosing to do is perfectly fine.

I think that all of the names are adorable and you did great at compromising the names. This way, both of you get names that you like and that have meaning. It's wonderful how you can work it out so easily!

awwwwwwwww the girl's name is very beautiful, I LOVE IT!!!!
the boy's name is ok, but what matters is what you think and if you are happy with them....... Francisco, i wouldn't name my kid that, but it's a unique and tasteful name, so i don't see a problem with the names you ahve chosen, and i think that they are a great compromise between you and your fiance. It is also wonderful that your choosing to name them after family, and I am really sorry about his mother.

Congrats and Best Wishes to you!!!!! Whatever you ultimately decide to do will be wonderful!!!!
