I have tried sites like Orbitz and Travelocity. I need airfare from Pittsburgh. I want to go in mid June for like 3-5 days.

aThese are the best sites to check room rates, I have always found that I could save money by buy booking air and hotel separate.

http://www.travelworm.com
http://www.i4vegas.com
http://www.vegas.com
http://www.tripres.com

Tripres very rarely beat the rates of travelworm or i4vegas.

The rates in LV are "generally" very good from May 28th until June 15th if you can be a little flexible with your vacation you can save some $$$

avoid special events, large conventions and weekends if you can these all drive room rates up, sometimes astronomically.

You might take a look at one of these hotels they are some of my favorites for a nice hotel at a good value.

Luxor
http://www.luxor.com

Main Street Station
http://www.mainstreetcasino.com

Golden Nugget
http://www.goldennugget.com

Orleans
http://www.orleanscasino.com

Stratosphere
http://www.stratospherehotel.com

Bill's Gamblin Hall(ex Barbary Coast)
http://www.billslasvegas.com

If you book your rooms through the hotel, this will allow you to keep looking for a better rates all the way up until you leave. Plus if you gamble the hotel can comp your room, neither of which you can do if you buy a package.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks of more at a time and have for more than 20 years. By necessity we have learned how to keep hotel costs to a minimum.

feel free to send me an anonymous e-mail through YA if you have any Questions.

We just booked our vacation through www.usairways.com. The airfare was about as cheap as it gets, and you may save a few bucks on your hotel as well, but it's usually going to be just as expensive as it would be if you booked through the hotel's website.

After doing a lot of research, we booked a basic room at Mandalay Bay at the south end of the strip. You may want to stay somewhere closer to the middle of the strip. Try Bally's.

Also, be sure to check out frommers.com. They give great advice!!

Have fun!

I have researched this because we go 2-3 times a year and the cheapest site by far, always is www.tripres.com.
All the others are more or maybe come close, but this is the cheapest.
They can book you rooms, flights, rental cars and shows. Among other things.
Check it out.
And have lots of fun.
Vegas rules.
We are moving there this summer.

www.usairwaysvacations.com

I just got an email for summer rates of 51 a night at Excalibur.....
If Jet Blue flies out of Pittsburgh, it may be more cost effective to book separately.
I like www.travelworm.com for hotel rates. I also signed up for email promotions for the hotels I would consider staying at and now they send me email deals.
I think you get the best rate booking directly with the airline and the hotel.

Im a local. I use the mgm mirage website. They own many of the properties on the strip. Often they have flight and room packages that are cheaper and nicer than any travel site.. And typicaly offer food, spa, and gaming deals with the package. My favorite hotel is the luxor because it has great rooms, a club, and nice restraunts.

expedia.com or just start websearching things like "las vegas vacations" or searchstrings to that effect. You'll find more references than you can read in a week. Las Vegas is "Vacation Central" for America. Go for it!
