That's a great question, and there's tons of bands that have looked to the Beach Boys for inspiration. The Shins, The Wondermints, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Of Montreal, Matthew Sweet, etc. and that's just in the last ten years or so. They're up there with The Beatles and the Rolling Stones in terms of influence - I'm always hearing vocal melodies in songs that remind me of the Beach Boys.

A number of bands were influenced by The Beach Boys. One band was The Beatles.
While The Beach Boys were working on the "Pet Sounds" album Paul McCartney was in the studio they were recording in: just paying a visit. But what he heard, and saw was inspirational enough for him to go back to England, and work with John Lennon on an historical album that was lauded as the best sound track of that time, and instantly became a classic. The album was
" Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
That album was directly influenced by the recording session McCartney sat in on while The Beach Boys were recording "Pet Sounds". The Smiley album was set to track at the same time, however it was never released until a few years ago, and only parts of it was released at that.

not many really, do you really hear any influence or bands that kind of sound like them? th ebeach boys were influenced mainly by jack and dean and acts like dick dale, the fore fathers of surf rock, as far as the beach boys influencingthe beatles, well, that's a matter of perspective, as the beatles did not try to sound anything like the beach boys and it didn't show in their songwriting style, on the other hand, it was the beatles rubber soul what motivated the beach boys to write their greatest album, pet sounds, by they way, anyone who thinks the beach boys or the beatles were the first boy bands know nothing about music

The Shins, for sure.

Also, the Beatles (yes... I said the Beatles), Radiohead, Jan & Dean, Weezer...

pretty much every decent pop band since Pet Sounds came out got something from the Beach Boys.
