OMG...Nothing happened to the teacher. This is just an area that is known for unfair treatment of minorities...don't get offended, not my words...read up on the history of Paris, Texas for yourself...and to anyone that thinks this is right...you must not have children. I do not in anyway condone what the child did, not at all...I'm willing to believe her mother has taught her better than that...but does anyone know if the aide may have provoke her? There is a way that is fitting to discipline a child...suspension, expelled, but prison w/hard core criminals? uh huh; and for the one that suggested slapping her up side her head...oh grow up, violent tendencies much? but yet in the same town, it was okay to run over a grandmother and her 3 yr old grandson and only receive probation; or to torch your parent's home and only receive probation. For any one of you with just a seed of decency left, consider looking into this....the rest of you that don't...really, just keep it to yourself.

In Texas? She's lucky they didn't take her straight to the electric chair.

It only seems unfair because the cast majority of crimes here are dumbed down by lawyers, etc.

Can you imagine getting your hand sliced off...for stealing something. Makes for a good deterent.

I doubt that girls pride will have her pushing anyone around very soon...

But, I would have just b i t c h slapped her, and it would have been done with, no court, no law, just a hand upside the head at roughly 100mph...

Suicide 3-times...you gonna hold her hand while she jumps off that bridge. Let Mother Teresa worry about those who never make it into the gene pool.

There has to be more to this story. They just don't hand down a 7 year prison sentence for pushing a teacher. That would be unconstitutional in all of our states. I'm sure this child has had problems with authority figures before.

I'm sorry to hear that, but what happened to the teacher? He died?
If the teacher is allright, then she shouldn't go to prison.

I read that in Japan a teacher slapped a college girl because her skirt was too short and she fell and hit her head and went in a coma then she died and the teacher was not punished or got only two years or so.

Do you want to do something about this? Take signiatures for releasing her.

The punishment should fit the crime. 7 years for pushing a teacher's aide is truly assinine.

But then, we're talking about Texas, aren't we?

No, I haven't heard about this. But I'm not surprised. We have all lost our minds. I mean, kindergarteners are being expelled because they brought water pistols to school.
