I always accept compliments graciously-I sew, cook, bake and dress well. When I was younger tho I felt self conscious of compliments because I didn't know 'what they wanted from me?' Now I dress how I like and if someone likes it too that's great. But I do very little any more for other people's approval.

i use to say things like "yeah right "or "i wish" when i would get compliments but that was only because i was insecure about something else and couldn't see the things others saw for what they really were! if you cant accept a compliment its because you have insecurities!
