It is illegal to park on the pavement, and it is also illegal to park on a bend, for the very reason that is affecting you, obstructing your vision.

In the UK it's actually illegal to park anywhere on the highway (which includes the pavement) except in a designated parking place. Most of us do though, and a blind eye is usually turned except where a particular problem is caused, such as obstructing the pavement or dangerously near a bend or junction, such as in your case.
I'd contact your local bobby, now called "neighbourhood beat manager", and get him/her to come along when the van's there. Don't get involved in a personal confrontation with the owner, let the police deal.
The good old charge of "obstructing the highway" can come in handy.

Not sure where you are from but it is illegal to park on the pavements in the UK and if he is on a blind bend then he could get done for obstruction or something similar. If it an accident waiting to happen contact the police for advice

If he is parking on the pavement and causing an obstruction then it is illegal ,Suggest your local councilor local elections are coming up they love to be seen doing something at this time.Failing this take a photo as evidence and call at your local police station. He is committing an offense under the road traffic act.Regards Mick UK.

Sounds like he's obstructing the road way which would be illegal. Is the area he's parked in designated as an area it's ok to part in? If it is and the vehicle is just so large it makes it hard to see it's not.

Here is a fun and inexpensive trick.Purchase a tire valve stem removal tool at any auto parts store, then un-screw the schrader valve core in the wheel(releasing all air pressure instantly)then just leave the schrader core on the sidewalk next to the vehicle. He'll get the message after two or three times.

Yes it is illegal to park with 50 ft of a bend. So on it is illegal for sure.
If he's blocking the path as well then he's breaking the law again.
Call the police and make a complaint.

I always thought it was illegal to park on the pavement, especially when it causes an obstruction, as this van obviously is. Have a word with your community police unit if you have one, if not 'phone your local police station.

1. If he is parking on the pavement he is causing an obstruction and probably breaking traffic regulations.
2. If he is parking on a corner he is breaking the rules laid down in the highway code and probably some traffic laws.
Contact the traffic unit of your local police or council - preferably next time he is parked there.

While the illegality depends on the jurisdiction it is probably illegal. It is also poor manners.
But there are 2 sides to every story. He may be making a living with the van and has nowhere else to put it when not in use, so asking him to shift it may put him to more trouble than you are having.
I have trimmed trees at the request of neighbours (I live on a corner), but that is not quite the same thing. Contact your local authority and enquire if there are safe locations nearby for large working vehicles to be parked overnight.
