Well, it was my 15th birthday yesterday and I had told my friends that I would like my locker decorated (as is customary in highschools). They led me to believe that they would decorate it but when I went to my locker yesterday morning it was bare. I asked them why they didn't decorate it and they told me they wanted me to be surprised. And worst of all they were angry at me for not making it a surprise and making them feel obligated to decorate it. They decorated it today because they could see I was upset yesterday but I think it's a little too late. It made me feel like they didn't care at all about my feeling. Do you think that was a good reason not to decorate it or am I just overreacting?

I am sorry that your feelings got hurt. I understand how you feel. I don't think your friends were justified in their behavior, but at least they decorated it the next day. I think that someone just forgot the streamers or other decorations and decided to blame it one you.

I understand how you were hurt they didn't decorate your locker, but since you did suggest it to them, they probably wanted to teach you a lesson that you can't always get what you want.

I think it was justified. It is as if you ask someone to throw you a surprise party. Well..... it is no longer a surprise so now no one wants to throw it. What is the fun in that?

yea maybe if you didnt say anything to them bout it they would have decorated it.
Next time let them do waht they want so they feel its a real suprise not something you came up with.

They shouldn't have done that to you,but nobody is perfect.Don't hold it against them; it will just make you miserable.
