Is the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame a sham?

Do you think the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame panel chooses the most deserving inductees, or do you think they are a bunch of rock eletist snobs? Who do you think was inducted by not worthy and who do you think should have been inducted by now but has been passed over? What about music genres? Should Rap / Hip Hop artists be inducted (as was Grandmaster Flash)? Should they narrow their definition, limiting to strictly rock or would you say they've already veered from their original plath when they inducted R&B artists (for instance). Alice Cooper still isn't "in" and neither is Kiss. And neither is Linda Ronstadt. Country singer Hank Williams- in and so is the Bee Gees. Yet, Meatloaf, Heart and Cher have not.

Had they called it Musical Influence Hall of Fame or (as I saw in a newspaper) Rock n Roll Hall of Artists You Should Have Liked More Than The Ones You Actually Did, then they could have gone in whatever direction they wanted. But it is the ROCK AND ROLL Hall of fame.

They just had this discussion on the radio this morning (I live in Cleveland, home of the Museum). It seems that one of the panel members has issues with certain bands/artists and even certain genres of music. The 'voting' is unfair and biased. As for the whole hip hop/rap thing - since when is that classified as Rock n Roll? I appreciate the music, but the very name suggests that that particular genre does not belong. It is not the Music Hall of Fame. just my opinion...

Hate to interrupt it to you, interest, however the "Rock & Roll corridor of repute" has under no circumstances had even a 0.5-ounce of "credibility".....the certainty which you CARE who they do (or do not) induct exhibits you have not something extra effective than a passing familiarity with real track! (next you would be whining approximately somebody "not relatively deserving a Grammy", LOL!)
