A commited terrorist can do damned near anything if he has a mind to. There are controls on products so it's possible, but not likely. One case and National Security is all over it.
As to what to do, I guess just hope and pray. Eat what you grow out of your own garden if you have one. But don't go around in fear. If a terrorist was involved, fear is what he wants!

I don't think a terrorist would put rat poison into people's food. It would be pretty hard. My guess is that it happened when an employee came into contact with the stuff and then packaged it without washing hands or changing gloves. But that's just my theory.

Not difficult at all from what I've read today.
The only solution is for the pet food manufacturers to upgrade their quality control and test all pet foods randomly every day.
I imagine (and hope) all food processing people will do the same after hearing about the contamination

It probably wouldn't be too hard. But do you think that terrorists just thought of this, yesterday? The capability has been there for hundreds of years, who knows if they haven't already succeeded in doing just that? Maybe the government is just hiding it from us....
