the ancient mayans obviously knew more than us, evident by the fact they mapped Pluto, hundreds of years before it was discovered. so what do you guys make of their prediction for dec 21,2012

let me revise, they didn't map pluto, they carved an intriactely detailed map of the solar system, including pluto and a tenth planet, and predicting their own demise is a moot point b/c the prevailing belief is that there is an afterlife, also i don't believe we will all die on that day, the precessional equinox will have completely passed and the sun will appear to rise from the 'center' of the universe. giving rise to a new age, and not a new world order. this is thought to be the aquarian age and it's thought to lead to a higher level of conciousness, this process is happening now, think of this, how many times have you or some one you know said there aren't enough hours in the day, or that kids are growing up faster now than before. all the evidence is arond us but most are to caught in their daily lives to relize it

No, they didn't. What's the deal with people thinking ancient extinct people who didn't discover the wheel understood more about the universe than we do? Their 'map' was 10 star-like things on a wall. That's it. No distances, no orbits, no descriptions, just graffitti. They didn't know about Pluto, or Uranus, or Neptune.

They also didn't make any predictions for 2012. That's just when their cyclical calendar restarts.

You sound very superstitious. Try looking into astrology a bit with some critical thought - there's nothing too it.

I don't think that it's going to be the "end of the world" on December 21, 2012, as the Mayans may have predicted, according to you. That fateful day is a ways off. Nostradamus predicted it to be 3755. The world, as we know it, will be destroyed by asteroids. In the year 3797, the world will be consumed by an expanding Sun. I'm leaning towards his prophecy. It's as good as the next, get it? Note the sarcasm?

Where in the hell did you read that the mayans mapped pluto? What a waste of space.
