So, I was watching Are You Smarted than a Fifth Grader? and I couldn't help but be completely disgusted by how little these adults knew. This one woman did not know that Australia was the only continent which is a country and that the diameter of a circle is half the radius! So I need to know, are American's that uneducated? Is this a common thing? I am from Canada so I was a wee bit shocked when this lady did not know the answer to some very simple questions. If y=3x and 3x=12 what does y equal. Um. 12! So I am asking all American's, is America really a poorly educated country or is just a select group of a few people who truly are not smarter than a fifth grader?

Yes americans are THAT uneducated. I was watching the same episode of that same show, and i was amazed at how completely idiotic that american woman was. If I were on that show i would have one million dollars right now.

It's obviously a gimimick show. Probably all fake. But fyi you've got radius and diameter backwards. Also, the answer that Australia is a country and continent isn't really perfectly accurate. The continent may be called Australia frequently but it contains countries other than Australia.

So you think the English are educated merely because they like Islam and Americans are naturally ignorant because you disagree with what they say about Islam? I say it is a really cheap trick to denounce people whom you disagree with as being ignorant. If you were more balanced you'd realize that Islam (like most things in life) has a negative side.

i think part of it..... to make the show interesting & try to make more money - the adults selected to go on are the ones that will have a hard time....

come on, they're not gonna put smart people on that show, it'd go no where and be boring as hell. To get anyone to watch it they have to pick people that are complete morons or they'll have no viewers to talk about how stupid the people on that show are. But yeah, there are some pretty damn stupid people in the US
