The brown eyed gene dominates over the blue eyed scientifically, but it's not for certain, that's just the norm!
My gran has brown eyes and brown hair, my granddad is blonde with blue eyes and both my mum and my aunt have blonde hair and blue eyes...
I have blonde hair and blue eyes, and my son's dad had brown eyes and dark blonde hair, and my son got dark brown eyes and brown hair.
My partner who I am expecting a baby with, (I'm 34 weeks) has brown hair and green eyes, and there is a history of redheads in his family - so I can't wait to see how our little girl will turn out!!
Congrats! :-)

Brown eyes are a dominant gene, and blue eyes are a recessive gene, so most likely the baby will have brown eyes with brown hair. But that's not a guarantee! There's a possibility that the baby will end up with all recessive genes, or a combo of both, or even end up with hidden genes (genes not apparent in either parent), so it'll have green eyes and blonde hair. No way to know for sure, but I do know that like I said above, brown eyes and brown hair are dominant genes while blue eyes and red hair are recessive genes.

According to the linked article, brown eyes are the most dominant eye color. So this means brown is the dominant gene and blue is the recessive gene. To have a good guess at your baby's eye color, we have to figure out both the dominant and recessive eye colors of you and your husband.
If your husband has blue eyes, and everyone in his family has blue eyes, this means he probably has all recessive blue eye genes. So let's say he's 'rr' (one recessive gene from each parent). You have brown eyes. Did either of your parents have blue eyes? If so, you would be 'Dr' (dominant recessive), if not you would be 'DD' (dominant dominant). So now you combine both sides. So the gene pool for your baby's eye color is something like 'Drrr' or 'DDrr'. Assuming all things being equal, DDrr means there's 1/2 chance s/he will have blue eyes while Drrr means 3/4 chance s/he will have blue eyes. Keep in mind the dominant gene is called dominant for a reason, nature tends to lean more heavily in the dominant direction.
Disclaimer: I'm not using official scientific notation so don't start talking to your friends about DDrr ;).

The statistical averages as far as the eye color gene goes if one parent has brown eyes and the other has blue is
50% odds of baby having brown eyes
35% odds of baby having blue eyes
15% odds of baby having green eyes
Like I said these are just statistical averages
You can do some eye color gene charts on the web and find out the odds in your case if you know the eye color of the paternal and maternal grandparents

The children of caucasian people generally are born with blue or gray eyes. They will probably change to brown by the time the baby is 10 months old (this is when eye color generally has fully developed).

I believe it is a 25% chance; blue eyes are the least common eye color. Although, I am wondering, if I have blue eyes, and my boyfriend has hazel eyes, what color eyes would the baby have, green?

Blue eyes do carry a dominant gene believe it or not however, my mother has blue eyes and my father has brown eyes. Somehow me and my sister both got green eyes! Every situation is different, really won't know what color eyes your baby will have until he/she is born.
