Thornton can do it. As a Penguins fan who has Sharks season tickets with Joe anything is possible. Watching Joe night after night is impressive but if he does catch him, it will be the last time because Crosby is for real and no one will be near him after this year barring injury.

I would have to say that Thornton is too far behind right now to catch up to Crosby who is killing the competition for the Art Ross since he is like six points ahead of the next top scorer. Although Thornton is on fire, Crosby and the Pens are on a scoring and winning streak of their own and when the Pens win you can be sure Crosby picks up at the least a point per game and Thornton will probably pick up like 1.5 points per game in the last games Crosby will still come out on top. It would be really funny if Thornton comes from behind and wins the Art Ross for the second year in a row since he did it to Jagr last year.Thornton became the best center by far in the NHL last year but from here on out he has ceded that title to Crosby.

As a realist- He has a decent chance but not that great. He has to average about 2 points a game and hope Crosby doesn't score much more. It is possible though, and I'm not counting him out.

No. Unless Crosby gets injured or falls into a major slump I trhink its a good bet that he will win the Art Ross.

thornton is the closest and if he keeps racking up 3 assists per game and crosby is idle you never know joe and michalek have been hot recently
