Found out at 10 weeks I had a Blighted Ovum. My DR told me to wait 2 cylces before conceiving again. I just had my 2 cycle that ended yesterday. Reason why I'm asking is that I had all the pregnancy symptoms except for morning sickness. Me and my husband want to start trying agian. I'm not trying to get my hopes up, but I want to make sure that when I do get pregnant again that I get some kind of morning sickness. I know that I'm putting my foot in my mouth but I think that if I have morning sickness then I'll know that I conceived and know that there is a baby growing inside of me. With a Blighted Ovum I had no baby in there the whole time and my husband & I always touched my belly thinking that a baby was in there. Has anyone had a Blighted Ovum and conceived afterwards.

Morning sickness is a hormonal reaction. Some women never experience it throughout their pregnancy, so it's not a very reliable indicator of a healthy pregnancy.

My wife and I experienced a blighted ovum prior to conceiving our first child. I sympathize very much with your feelings about finding out that there was no baby. My wife and I did the same thing...touching her belly and thinking about the baby inside. It was very painful to find out that it was all false. In our case, the blighted ovum happened after two very frustration years of infertility treatments, which made it even more difficult to bear.

On the bright side, though, after waiting two cycles following the blighted ovum, we conceived our first child immediately and the pregnancy was perfectly normal. So, keep your chin up...don't get discouraged. One thing I would suggest is that the next time you conceive, ask your doctor or nurse practitioner if they will order an ultrasound for viability, due to your previous experience. This is a simple ultrasound given much earlier in the pregnancy than normal for the purpose of verifying the presence of a baby. They'll confirm the fetal heartbeat, etc. For us, it was very re-assuring to know that the baby was really there, and if it's ordered by your doctor then most insurance plans will cover it.

Good luck!

I had a blighted ovum. I had a d&c to clean it out. My dr told me that I only needed to wait one cycle before becoming pregnant. She said that after the d&c I should be pregnant within 3 months and I was. The second pregnancy turned out fine..I now have a happy healthy 2-1/2 yr old

my sister in law had a blighted ovum. she had morning sickness so having that doesnt mean your pregnancy is normal. Her doctor told her it is highly unlikely that would occur a second time and he told her to wait 3 months. She is now expecting a baby girl in august. Good luck and try not to worry, im sure everything will be fine!
