What about in America alone? What can be done to stop it?

When we, the richest, best fed nation's have had enough.

I worry about the world but I also worry all those going without here at home....I worry about poor families in the Mississippi Delta...hungry kids in Harlem...impoverished kids living in cardboard boxes in Appalachia....starving families in Houston's Third Ward..In Chicago's Carbrini Green, in the barrios of San Antonio and tiny, delapidated homes housing three poor families in East L.A.

We've got our share of hunger problems domestically. It's hard for me to grasp sending tons of food and millions of dollars in aid to places like Somalia when there are countless American mothers who are forced to send their children to bed hungry.

Let's fix all that's broken here before we cure the world's ills.
