World Net Daily and Canada Free Press both have articles covering this a lot more in depth than anything I've found anywhere else, apparently Menu Foods of Toronto, with plants in NJ and KS, has not made it a mandatory recall, it's up to stores to decide to pull the food. Apparently they don't care about people's pets, I hope they get bankrupted by lawsuits! Makes you notice that one kind of food is sold under many different names for many different prices. Supposedly they put the poison on the surface of the grain in the hold of ships to keep rats from eating it during shipment. Why do we import food from a starving country? Where has the poisoned grain been going before now? Note that in mild doses this does not KILL people, it just causes abortions and birth defects, they could have been putting it in food products all this time and no one would have connected the dots. We need the government to label all products with country of origin labels, and if they import food, they have an OBLIGATION to prove it is safe for consumers, no one should have to prove it unsafe first. Grow your own food or buy locally as much as you can, wash it thoroughly, prepare more of your own meals. Last I saw Walmart hasn't pulled these brands from their shelves either, but you need a sick or dead pet with verified autopsy report and open food container before you can sue anyone.

This is true. We are a law firm that represents thousands of mass tort victims. The number of pet owners who have lost pets or whose pets' kidneys have been damaged will be in the thousands. Menu Foods, the manufacturer was apparently looking for a cheaper source of wheat gluten for its pet food lines and began importing rat poison contaminated wheat gluten from China. You can bet it was cheaper than wheat gluten from Nebraska. Now the pets are paying the price.

We are pursuing claims for pet owners.
