most small animals are generally buried in the back yard most anywhere you live. Larger animals like dogs can be buried in your backyard in rural areas, but in towns, it is required by law to turn the animals body in to a veterinarians office for disposal. this is to confirm that Rabies was not the cause of death. All super large animals should be turned int to veterinary clinics for disease control.

Rats! Good choice for a pet. I've had a few and, honestly, when my last one died, its the first time I think my son saw me cry. I loved that little guy. Take care!

As I dont have access to a garden, I take my rats to a local pet cemetary. I'm lucky that it is about 15 minutes away by bus and they now know me very well. My first few rats were cremated in a group with other animals and their ashes spread in the cemetary gardens. Since they started doing individual creamtions for rats I have been doing that and keep the ashes in ornate boxes on my mantle. I have decided that when my cat passes away, he will be buried there and all the rats ashes I have at that time will be put in with him.

We bury everything from our fish to our goats that have passed over the years. We have even buried our one neighbor's dog in our back yard. All our rabbits, cats, dogs and larger animals plus any wild ones brought home like the squirrel that got hit, but later died in my arms, are all buried in our back yard. All the small animals from fish to birds are buried in the circle garden around my dogwood tree. The dogwood tree is said that if you look at the center of the petals, you will see the face of Jesus. This is what my grandmother told me when we buried my pets as a child under her dogwood tree.

If you have the space/land/area...bury them. My sister actually has her own "Pet Cemetery" and they are laid to rest with dignity and markers just like a human would. I think that is great. If you do not have that option, call your local vet or animal control and see what their options would be to help you.

It all depends on the specie and what religion they belong to. some of them have cemeteries... you have to look up the yellow pages or white pages in your area. good question though -- did you think about it all by yourself? amazing.
Hope it helps. Do not forget to call also
the epitaph scriber specially for your mouse -- they need to be remembered properly.

I've always buried my pets in the back yard and had a little ceremony for them.

If you live rural you bury it in the backyard, if you live urban, you call the vet and they send it to be cremated.
