ok so emo stands for emotional right. and i was wondering how, psychologyically, do people become emo?
is it from childhood experiences or is it just their characteristics? is it genetical?! jk.

and ive got a view point that emo does not only mean cutting wrists and blacking the eyes, and do i have anyone agreeing with me; is this true?
i think emos are just people who can be emotionally connected/attached to anything like music, people (interaction), society (big scale), etc. AND, does the slightest of expressing their 'emo' side through art and/or is seen by how they act towards things. resulting SOMETIMES isolation (in any way mentally or socially or whatever) from a common group of friends. (because theyre such deep, thoughtful, emotional people)

do you guys get that? (i suck at explaining, so any biased remark is welcome, i just wanna know what the world thinks)

thanks!

Emo is a marketing tool used to sway impressionable young people into buying crappy music.

I think emos are just a little confused and different. We all know kids can be cruel and they may not be widely accepted at school or other structured places. They express themselves in ways that other dont feel is appropriate. With all this being said, What is an emo? I keep thinking of a chipmunk

Ok unless I am mistaken Call me old if you like I do not care but I am 26...my understanding of emo is an overly emotional person so for them to be a result of surpressed anger I just can not agree with that. I HAVE ALOT OF THAT. My psych, husband and therapist will agree. So in answer to your question no...However alot of servere Psychiatric Disorders can come of surpressed anger. I have been lucky enough not to have any of the servere ones(knock on wood).

Honestly, i think being 'emo' is being able to look outside of the box. im not really one for labeling but if you had to i guess you could say thats how i grew up, now hanging out with other kids who are 'emo' you tend to talk about more, seems like you think more and possible even appericate more than the joe football kid.

No i get what you are saying. See the thing is, people call other people emo a lot of time by the clothes they wear, or how they act or dress ya know, stereotyping, but than thye turn around and say emos cut themselfs. When really, the other people they call emo, don't cut themselfs so are they really emo or are the people who cut themselfs emo? Wtf? its so screwed up.

That was the most backwards, needlessly convoluted way of asking a question I've ever heard. Try cutting down on the words by about 66%. A little grammer wouldn't hurt either.

no! this is a good explanation. i understand! the only thing is, i dont like when emos are categorized under blasck eyeliner and cutting. anyone can be emotionally attachd but not look like the stereotypical "emo".

good job though!

Human emotions can be reiterated upon themselves if we let them. The expressons "nurturing a grudge" and "nothing to fear but fear itself" capture some of this. Anxiety and depression can partake of this snowballing effect.
___Most people who have lives learn to keep this in check, since it interferes with task-accomplishment. But some like the sensations of indulged emotions, and engage in this sort of emotional masturbation. It's about self-indulgence and self-absorption, for it has, as an added "bonus", the effect of making oneself the most important person in the experienced universe.
___What's really odd about it is that this way of coping just digs one's hole deeper, isolating one from other, healthy people, and from the means to have a worthwhile life.

you could communicate approximately what's troubling you (in a nicely mannered way) to the guy, workout the disappointment away (if it incredibly is attainable), draw (or notwithstanding else relaxes you), or look for out faith in a greater physically powerful ability. it incredibly is ultimate to no longer carry anger in. you're in basic terms hurting your self. are not you extremely worth greater that?
