What type of women to most men like?

Any thoughts? This could range from anything- personality traits to looks to both. But which qualities specifically? I've recently read a book called his needs her needs and it listed the top five things men want and I'm just seeking verification. they said the list usually goes something like this.
1. sex
2. recreational companion
3. attractive spouse
4. domestic support
5. validation

First of all, don't waste your time reading books about what men (or women) want. In order for them to have any accuracy at all they have to be so general as to provide only the most obvious information. Also, don't read the moronic "what drives men wild" articles I've seen in so many women's magazines. Those are just monthly filler.

What type of women do men like? There are just about as many types of women as there are women in the world. What types of men do women like? Ask youself what kind of men you find attractive and then ask your friends the same thing. Unless you're so young that your ideal man image is 100% media-derived, then you'll see that your list of characteristics are pretty different.

Now, sure you and your friends will have very different "ideal men", physically speaking. But you'll probably have a lot more in common when it comes to issues of character and personality.

For example, one friend of mine likes curvy, sensual, "chunky" girls. I like them very petite and librarian-looking. Yet another friend is intensely attracted to the Pamela Anderson types. You see, we're all very different when it comes to the physical, but when it comes to the interior qualities we all want honest, hard-working, independent, intelligent women.

Sex is an important part of any relationship (between mature adults), however don't assume it's guy-wants-it-woman-doesn't. I know more than one couple where it's the opposite. So it's important for you to be willing to do whatever it takes to please your partner in a respectful, trusting and consentual atmosphere.

Companionship is important too. It gets boring just sitting around, so it's nice to be able to engage in activities with your special person. But if he likes to do nothing but golf and all you do is watch American Idol then it may not work out. You have to have some compatibility here just like everywhere else.

Attractive spouses are nice, but the older you get the less important this is. I've seen too many people make the mistake of doing everything to keep a bad relationship together just because the other person is cute. You hear many people say all the good ones are married or gay, or that the most important characteristic in a mate is sense of humor. More often than not, what she really means is, "all of the hot ones are married or gay", or "what I really want is someone who is funny and good looking." It's important to be attracted to your mate, but you know what they say concerning the depth of beauty.

The best advice I can give regarding this is that you should keep your mind open. Have a great attitude, smile a lot and have the intelligence and independence to make yourself stand out. Make yourself interesting because you want to be, not just to impress someone. In other words, if you're interesting enough to enjoy your own company then other people will enjoy being with you too.
