Spring has sprung here in NY and I want to wash off all the junk that winter leaves behind from under my car.

How can I safely do this without damaging anything? What should I use?

go to the car wash and use the manual bay wash wand to spray it off or hook up a pressure washer.

Go to either a car wash where you they have undercarriage washing, or go to a self serve car wash and use the pressure hose to clean out the under side of the car where the salt accumalated. Or if you own a power washer, you can do it yourself with water.
good luck.........

I go to one of those manual, pay, car wash stalls, squat down and stick the wand under the car at different places and give it a good long burst. Never had any prolems

Take it to a carwash, many of those here in NY have undercarriage jets that gently wash off the accumulated salt, and so forth.

Otherwise, use your normal hose, don't pressure-jet the stream, and just use regular water to rinse it off.

Turn on the air conditioner. Get naked. Get under the car. Use the water from the air conditioner runoff hose to wash.

To do it safely without damaging anything, don't lie on your back near the fan or fanbelt.
