The EXACT same thing happened to me. I gained 10 lbs in a month!!!
Don't worry! The next month, I'd only gained three.
But make sure you are drinking lots of water, eating right and exercising. Exercising helped me SO much! I think it kept me from gaining, too.
I'm at 28 weeks, and I've gained 15 extra pounds plus the five I lost in the first trimester.

Between my 18 and 22 week visit I gained 5 pounds. The first trimester I lost 4 pounds but since gained that back plus the 5 for a total of 9. Did the doctor tell you that he only wanted you to gain 2lbs? Everytime I complain that I've gained weight my doctor tells me not to worry about it "you're supposed to gain weight." is what he says.
You're 1/2 way there and the average weight gain should be around 15-25 pounds unless you're really thin. Don't stress! You'll be fine.

When I was 20 weeks, I put on 10 pounds in one month! I hadn't been gaining any weight up until that point. Don't worry about it. Since then (I'm 30 weeks now), I've only gained about 7 pounds. I wouldn't fret about your weight because a total weight gain of 25-35 pounds the entire pregnancy is normal. Just be sure to eat healthy and stay active to ensure a healthy pregnancy. Unless the doctor is concerned, I wouldn't worry. You'll forget all about your weight when your baby is in your arms.

I gained about 15 lbs by 20 weeks. Now at 28 weeks I'm up to 25 lbs. Don't worry about gaining too much in one month. Just focus on the next month and try to eat well. Make sure you're getting the nourishment your body and baby need and don't go hog wild with the "eating for two" thing. You should be fine though. At this point, I've gained a bit more than I would like to but I'm trying to keep the total gain through the pregnancy to less than 40 lbs.

I lost weight in the 1st trimester with all my kids and then only gained 11 to 17 pounds after what I lost. You may gain more 1 month than another, just be careful what you eat and try and eats lots of fruits and veggies for snacks. You are no where close to the 30 pound mark they recommend so don't stress to much about it. Good luck.

I dont remember exactly 20 weeks.. but in first trimester I lost 4 lbs.. started at 181 went down to 179. From 179 I went up to 186 in second trimester. At 31 weeks I am at 190. So if you count from prepregnancy I have gained 9 lbs..
Its too much trouble to worry about weight gain.. everyone's is different!
As long as you are eating good and drinking lots of water, you will be fine! :)

If you lost weight the first month, don't forget to subtract that from the 7 pounds you gained. You sound emotional and stressed. Relax already.
