you can use it for linux, if you're lucky, but not much else.........

Not for much! Its old as the hills! If someone is tryin to pass it off on you, dont give them more than 50 bucks! Dont expect it to run games. About all its good for is browsing the internet.

Yeah this computer sounds pretty old, I'd say 7 years. Yeah don't expect much from it. Maybe browse the internet and check email.
