Do you come from a dysfunctional family? … Does anyone really have a “normal family”?

i definitly came from a dysfunctional family...my mom is a psycho evil selfish whacko person that was always on some medication and that did not help her!! she still was weird...and pshyco!

Everyone has a dysfunctional family to some extent. However, I read a story this morning about a family in Penn. (Father, mother, and three children (18, 17, and 16)) that made this girl that was staying with them into their "slave" for 6 months. They would all take turns beating her with brooms, metal pipes, pieces of wood, and whatever else. She even had to stand in the corner holding weights.

Now the mother claims all her bruises appeared because "she falls while delivering the paper." The family told her that she would be strangled and her family killed if she tried to escape or told anyone.

Now when you ask about dysfunctional families what exactly do you mean?

yes, with 6 step dads, I'd say a tad bit dysfunctional, however, my kids will come from a home with both parents still in tact & still in love after 18 yrs!! and my kids don't appreciate it yet but they will when they're out on their own - they're teens. and right, what is normal these days?

no they dont. if they say they do they have a warped idea of normality. everyones family is dysfunctional.

Normal..everyone has a different answer on defining normal. Therefore, as dysfuntional as my family is, we are pretty normal.
