No car requires premium gas, manufacturers only want you to believe that so their buddies in the gas industry can fleece you every chance you get.
There may be more of a chance of "engine knock" developing when you use a lower octane, but the chance is very remote if you maintain your car properly with regular tune ups, oil changes and other maintenance.
I worked for a major gasoline company for many years.. buy the regular unleaded gas, and use a fuel injection cleaner if your car has them, about every 6 months.

The only real difference is how the gasoline can take compression if you were to use a gasoline with 50 octane it would be more likely to fire before it reached the top if you are planing you racing or driving hard the higher octane would be better but for regular driving 87 is good

The Nissan is a high reeving engine, and you may be looking at the model that has a turbo on it, which would require premium. I love Ford, I've never owned anything but a ford, but buying a v6 pony car is a joke. the GT would require premium.

Depends on you engines compression ratio. It would guess 87 octane should be fine due to it being a V6. If not, if should say to use higher octane by the gas cap. If you don't see anything there, READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL. My Vette needs 90 or higher octane due to the compression. I can use lower octane in a pinch, but it will not run as well and might make a pinging noise.

You could use any gas you want. Premium gives the car about 3 more horsepower because premium is better quality gas so it will burn better and make more power.
Manufacterures tell you to put premium so you could get the best performance out of the car so you would be satisfied with it.

This very concern ensue to me with my maxima which has the comparable 3.5 engine as your Z after my brother crammed it up with crappy gasoline the vehicle began to shake and my provider engine mild got here on. what I did became i offered a guy made gasoline injector purifier you will get it at any vehicle section save I then placed good gasoline in it thankfully after that the vehicle look to have long previous decrease back to typical. So one time would be ok yet i'd nevertheless purchase the gasoline injector purifier if i became you. believe me your vehicle gets much extra appropriate gasoline mileage i'm getting and typical of roughly 25 mpg city and 30 plus highway. and you could have extra appropriate overall performance besides. desire this helps
