I was just wondering, as I haven't seen the show; however, i've seen some of the commercials, and was curious.

The character is Detective Vic Mackey, played by Michael Chiklis, and he's definitely corrupt. However, he sometimes does the right thing, and he tries to justify his corruption by thinking the ends justify the means.

the bald neaded guy is det. vic mackey (michael chiklis), he is the lead in the show, last season he was under investigation by internal affairs for the alleged shooting of his old partner (season one) and other questionable actions/deeds, he has yet to be convicted of anything,,, his main goal is to keep the gangs at bay and the streets clean of anything he deems illegal or counter-productive to his needs of keeping crime down in farmington
