It's crazy, you show women a study that men are smarter than women and they all deny it or say ''we just let em think they are''
But show them a study that proves women are better multi-taskers and they will all agree with it. What is up with that?

Baba Yaga this must be the smartest thing you ever said. Unfortunately you did not answer the question... how typical... Do you not believe that the one who made the study about women being better multi-taskers than men is a ''kook'' as you say? I think you believe what benefits you but denounces whatever doesn't.

Please explain why all the women say they are smarter than men please. Seems a little CHAUVINISTIC doesn't it? How TYPICAL of a woman to think they are smarter than men when they were supposedly OPPRESSED throughout history.

SweetSat: ''A focus on a factors such as the ability to quickly grasp a complex concept, verbal reasoning skills and creativity - some of they key ingredients of intelligence - revealed the male teenagers had IQs that were an average of 3.63 points higher. The average person has an IQ of around 100.''
DIFFERENT TYPES OF INTELLIGENCE WERE TESTED IN THE TEST.

Contrary to what liberals like to believe IQ tests correlate strongly with many kinds of life outcomes including school performance and income levels.
My reading suggests a bell curve that places more men at the extremes than women (more geniuses, more retarded.)
The original thinking that men and women have equal average IQs was crucial in breaking down limitations on the career choices of women (medicine, the sciences etc). If it were to turn out that the sexes do not have equal average IQs it raises doubts about the performance of women.
That said, I'd wait a while before buying this study. IQ studies are notoriously difficult to get quantified right.

You can't base facts on statistics. Women and men are both capable of being smarter or less intelligent than the other, in individual situations. The same with races. We all are born with a brain, which has the same functions as every one elses brain, regardless of sex or race. It's hormones that make the difference between a man and a woman. If you put a man and a woman together who have had the same background in education, ultimately it's going to be the one who has more drive and motivation that comes out on top. Statistics are not facts. Five years in the future, they may do the same test and find out the opposite. They may do a test that shows that dolphins have a higher IQ than the majority of 12 year old girls. It's silly. Statistics are based on the group that was tested alone. It doesn't take into consideration the millions of other humans out there, and that there is always an exception to those statistics. It doesn't matter what race or sex you are. How intelligent you are is based on the individual and their own background and motivation. Plus, how are they defining intelligence? Math? Memory? Maturity? Common sense? There are many types of intelligence out there. Stop fighting already.

These are matters of nurture just as much as nature.
Yes a woman has the highest IQ on record but that still means nothing. It is just a number. There are many levels of intelligence. Millions of people have come and gone, even more have never had the opportunity to develop their gift, so that means nothing.
Men and women are equal in mental capbabilities, just we think differently in some categories. We also approach problems differently. I am not bright enough to sit and make my way through a bunch of studies under unnatural conditions. I just go by common sense and observation.
Generally they say women multi task better because at times a woman can be holding a baby, chasing toddlers, making dinner, talking to doctor on the phone, while the laundry is on. However, I have seen men directing projects and they have an equal number of balls in the air. My brother does it all the time but drop him into the house situation and he would be lost. Drop the woman off at his construction site and she would be lost as well. Yet both can multi task equally well. It is conditioning and training. If their roles were reversed they would still have difficulties switching duties!
A lot of what you observe though, "we just let them think they are" I have heard from men over other similar gender play nonsense. This is hardly gender specific and uses humour as a form of self defence. Good natured humour of the girls vs the boys has always been a fun ploy but in this era of political correctness even such humour is eyed suspiciously.
All this discussion is fairly irrelevant. Men and women have different and also some similar skills but we are all genetically programmed for survival, together. Basically we need teamwork and to be able to work to each other's strengths and minimise our collective weaknesses in order to make any progress in future.
Divisive talk about who is better than who is pointless and smacks of political correctness.

I don't believe that there is an accurate test to test "how smart" someone is. There are many different intelligences, some recognized, some not. Men may, on average, be more inclined, or higher scoring as far as some intelligences. However, these tests are so myopically focussed that they serve no purpose but to give false impressions. I hate how we say that we want equal rights, but continue to try to find ways to declare a superior race, sex, religion, etc. Why can't we just value the individual?

Do I believe the research of a man who also did a study "proving" that RACE affected intelligence? No, what kind of narrow-minded, racist, sexist idiot do you take me for? Obviously the same kind of racist, sexist idiot who did the study in the first place. ONE study does not prove anything, especially if that study is done by someone with an OBVIOUS agenda. Do YOU believe that RACE has anything to do with intelligence? If you choose to believe this "study" (read: sexist propaganda) then you have to believe his other study (read: racist propaganda). And four points isn't even enough to account for an acceptable margin of error.
And what "Farien" said is correct. Multitasking is a SKILL, intelligence is inherent. You can't compare the two. Studies have shown that women have more accuracy when multi-tasking, and a lot of those same studies show that men have better spatial awareness. We are equally intelligent (despite what your racist, sexist study wants to say) but we have different skills...what's wrong with that?
And why are you calling women who "believe" those multi-tasking studies sexist, when it is just as sexist to "believe" THIS study? (Which you obviously do)...don't you see the contradiction there?

I think women and men both are equal in denying known facts about the opposite sex.. I think its all about the individual and their ego.
A study is a study, if it can be proven scientifically, done in double blind studies, with equally qualified candidates, then i'm all for it. But most studies are not done that way. They start off with bias..
As a woman, sure, I enjoy making my smart *** little comments about the opposite sex, but for me its all in good fun. I also know that you cannot compare our dna makeup. Men may be stronger in braun, but not so strong emotionally. Or women may be better multitaskers while men are better at perservering.
So what, who cares, live your own life and quit trying to battle each other. Eventually your going to want to settle down with the opposite sex anyways, so why not accept that we are different and embrace those differences!

Does it really matter?
Such a small number of points on an artificial intelligence test hardly indicates anything, apart from the fact that men and women are different.

Men tend to do better on different types of intelligence tests, including g-loaded tests (Like Raven's Progressive Matrices) or the different types of IQ tests (Like the Stanford-Binet).
IQ tests measure pretty specific things; namely, the ability to discern relationships and patterns. It is unclear to me in particular what this impact this has on understanding, but it may be the fact that one who can glean information from something so quickly is able to apply the skill to other subjects.
It is ludicrous to believe that at least SOME aspects of intelligence are not measurable. Number one, people with high IQ's are certainly more apt at quite a few academic disciplines, especially when the speed with which one learns a new concept is considered.
Secondly, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Although our analysis of intelligence is lacking at the moment, it is quite possible that we will be able to measure it one day in terms of refractory periods in neurons, connections between neurons, or something similar.
I'm not entirely sure what is "up" with women that agree with things like that and become vehemently aggressive when something that contradicts their "sensibilities" comes about. Men pull it too, but people don't seem to agree as much with them or have as much sympathy. Curious...

Nobody likes to hear he is worse than this group that nation or that gender. They are just acting instinctively. Try telling Americans they make some of the worst cars on the world (bad when measured against the competition but fun enough to make some Germans import the classics), or tell the Germans they make boring cars and see what reaction you get.
With that said America spawned some of the most interesting and enjoyabel rides.

According to an article in Psychology Today in February of this year, there is nothing to indicate that sex indicates level of intelligence. The article concludes, after discussing several studies, that the levels of testosterone present before birth and after birth effect certain aptitudes. However, (in my opinion) possessing certain aptitudes does not define one's intelligence (whatever that may be).
