I have a 1982 chevy 3500 pickup 2wd that the transmition went out. I also have a 86 Suburban with a 4wd transmition that I will try to put in the puckup. Can somone tell me how to do it or refer me to a website that can. Thans for any help.

You may find it easier to put your body on an existing 4X4. Buy a truck with a rusty body, but a well maintained running gear. If you decide you want to do a body lift or work on the suspension, then that would be the time to do it once the body is removed.

Wouldn't it be easier to trade the 4WD trans to someone for a 2WD one? That job is pretty deep, the transmissions aren't the same. It would be easier to just buy a 4WD truck somewhere. You will probably even get some boot money from the trade.

I hate to be blunt, but if you are asking...you cant do it, take it to a shop and tell them, its more than just the transmission that will have to be swaped into the vehicle. Also need to make sure the transmission will match the engine in the Truck. Alot to consider, have it professionaly done.

first of all a 2 door is alot better than a 4 door so i wouldnt change it
