There are 3 computers at my house; my mom's, dad's, mine. My files were all on my computer, but recently I started using my own account on my mom's. Now, all of the files from my computer are on this account (which is on a separate computer). How do I move those files back?

I don't know how they got to the new account anyway. They just showed up. I had my computer set so that my files weren't accessible to everyone on the network.

I know nothing about computers, so I need idiot-proof directions. I want to move the files because they basically take up my whole hard drive.

I would assume, that since your files moved over to your mom's computer, that you are on the same network. Just share your files on your mom's computer, and pull them off the network from your computer. It sounds like you're savvy... you can view network folders in "my network places" (if you're still on XP). At this point, you can move your files back over to your machine. Also check the location of the folder you move them to.... make sure they are not in a subfolder of a shared folder. Hope that's not too confusing.

Explaining how to move the files from one machine to another may take a while.

Why not just burn a CD with the files?

You should be asking your parents for help instead of total strangers on the Internet. If I gave you crummy instructions, I could do an enormous amount of damage to your local network. Unfortunately, I have had bad experiences with getting bad instructions.
