Be careful and don't plan to much! People don't like it andit's hard to get more than 3 people at a time to agree on anything. Plan a nice dinner and a pic nic or something, play baseball or frisby and let people do their own thing. you'll have much happier people.... which translates into a much better time.

Set up tables and chairs so everyone can eat
together or in groups situated in close proximity.
Most party places rent these.

Separate your activities by age group. Consider
chess, lawn bowling, horse shoes, as well as
volleyball and water games for the kids and teens.

You can set up card tables and board games
but you might also consider putting out a blank
journal and asking all of the relatives to write
something about either their childhoold, life or
what they remember about their grandparents,
etc. something like a momento for generations
to come. Funny stories, happy or even sad
things. You may be surprised at what you can
learn.

Take pictures of the group and each family
group as well.

If you have not sent out notices of the reunions dates and times, ask everyone to either send in or bring a picture of themselves (with their names on the back)when they were little and have everyone guess who is who. Make game sheets with lines numbered 1 thru ??
and have them write down the answers. Have little gifts for the winner.

First of all... will this be a large group or small? Will it be indoors or outdoors? What type of people are in your family... reserved or loud and crazy? If you can give me (and other users) more ideas on the type of reunion I will have much easier time giving you ideas! :)
